BUS 52 Presents Puppets in Education
Puppets in Education information video 2012
Puppets in Education (PiE) is an educational puppet troupe….but the puppets do so much more than teach. They empower kids to talk about really important and sometimes difficult issues, including bullying, child abuse, drugs, autism, health, and cultural and physical differences. Working with 3 1/2 foot tall puppets these engaging programs reach over 10,000 children and adults each year, throughout Vermont and beyond.
Puppets in Education includes Kids on the Block-Vermont Programs and Friend 2 Friend Programs-Vermont.
Kids on the Block-Vermont (KOBVT) use puppets and interactive workshops to address twenty-one different societal concerns with children in grades K-8. KOBVT’s programs are recognized statewide for their success in teaching specific prevention, leadership and problem-solving skills while encouraging children to act prosocially in their schools and community.
Friend 2 Friend Programs-Vermont (F2F) is the first and only U.S. provider of this internationally recognized & acclaimed program Friend 2 Friend Autism Demystification Programs. F2F helps to demystify Autism Spectrum Disorders through puppet (pre-K to grade 4) and simulation game workshops (grades 4-12) that includes hands-on learning and teach empathy, prosocial communication skills and friendship strategies that improve peer relationships among all children.
